Kaiser Permanente Raises Funds to Support Breast Cancer Network of Strength®’s to Walk to Empower

CLEVELAND — Breast Cancer Network of Strength® is pleased to announce that Kaiser Permanente has raised over $8,000 in team pledges and donation so far for the Cleveland Walk to Empower taking place on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2010. This dynamic team has held several creative fundraiser including raffles for Cavs tickets and pink paper ribbon sales. In addition, Kaiser Permanente is a local official sponsor for the Walk to Empower.

The Kaiser Permanente team, so far with 70 members, had committed to raising $4,000 and has already doubled that amount in the weeks leading up to the walk! For a complete list of the teams, please visit Team Kaiser Permanente.

Louise Motley, part of the administrative team at the Kaiser Permanente Cleveland Heights facility, says she’s glad to be a part of this event. “For me being a part of this great cause is very inspiring. I can't explain the fulfillment, and passion that I feel in my heart to be able to contribute my time, and fund raising efforts to the Network of Strength. And what a way to honor and support breast cancer survivors by walking on Mother’s Day. It’s a wonderful feeling as we Walk to Empower on May 9th, 2010.”

“By making such an investment we are pleased to help ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone. It’s a wonderful Mother’s Day tradition for all of us,” says Laura Heiss, Kaiser Permanente team captain.
