Kaiser Permanente Volunteers Offer Service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
CLEVELAND — Every year on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Kaiser Permanente employees and physicians unite by the thousands across the country to provide valuable services to their communities to honor the legacy of Dr. King.
Today, Kaiser Permanente of Ohio employees and physicians will gather at one of two day-long service projects in Cleveland and Akron.
- In the morning, volunteers will interact with senior citizens at Golden Age Center (2501 E. 59th St., Cleveland) and help prepare the center’s lunch before visiting the Boys and Girls Club (2561 E. 59th St., Cleveland) in the afternoon to lead physical activities or crafts with the children.
- Kaiser Permanente employees will also be doing a day-long service project at the Haven of Rest shelter in Akron (175 E. Market St., Akron).
“The best way to honor Dr. King is through service and volunteering in our communities,” says Patricia Kennedy-Scott, regional president of Kaiser Permanente of Ohio. “The MLK Day of Service puts a spotlight on service as a way for nonprofit organizations like Kaiser Permanente to work together to meet the critical needs of the communities we serve and honor Dr. King’s legacy.”
This is Kaiser Permanente’s ninth annual MLK Day of Service.
