Kaiser Permanente Hosts Open House of New Indio Medical Offices
INDIO, Calif. — With a festive celebration on June 14, Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center leadership opened the doors to the newest medical offices in Indio, bringing Kaiser Permanente services in East Coachella Valley together under one roof. Members can continue to visit the same physicians and pharmacists they already know and trust in a larger, more convenient location. The 15,000-square-foot facility, boasting 16 exam rooms, is located at 46-900 Monroe St.

“By joining both medical offices and pharmacy services into one building, Kaiser Permanente is increasing the accessibility of high-quality medical care and convenience,” said Vita Willett, executive director, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals/Health Plan for the Riverside Area.
Family Medicine physicians Jose Fernandez, MD, Danny Lanares, MD, and Raquel Gomez-Mora, MD, have moved to the new location from the previous Kaiser Permanente site in Indio. The increase in staff and expansion of services at the Indio Medical Offices will continue throughout the year. “Soon, a fourth Family Medicine physician will move from Palm Desert to our new Indio location. Later this year, we’ll add laboratory and radiology services,” said Richard Rajaratnam, MD, FRCS, FACS, area medical director for the Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center.
The new medical office building, located on the corner of Monroe and Doctor Carreon Boulevard, is convenient to public transportation and near the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, where Kaiser Permanente members in Coachella Valley receive emergency care.
“We are very proud to be able to increase our available rooms and resources to accommodate the medical needs of the East Coachella Valley,” said Jill Duplechan, RN, medical group administrator, Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center and Service Area. Kaiser Permanente opened its medical center in Riverside in 1989 and its hospital in Moreno Valley in 2008.
More than 362,000 Kaiser Permanente members in Riverside County receive their care from over 400 Southern California Permanente Medical Group physicians, with medical and support staff at nine medical facilities and at Kaiser Permanente’s Riverside Medical Center (licensed for 226 beds) and Moreno Valley Community Hospital (licensed for 101 beds).
