All Kaiser Permanente Members Now Have Access to Personal Health Record

Kaiser Permanente's operations in Ohio launched on Tuesday 11 features that include the ability to view lab results online and send secure emails to physicians.

Kaiser Permanente first launched online Personal Health Record features on kp.org in 2005. Today, nearly 8 million Kaiser Permanente members have activated their PHR online. That makes it one of the most actively used personal health records in the world.

Even before this milestone was reached, KP HealthConnect™ was recognized as the world's largest civilian electronic health record. More 275,000 secure e-mail messages are sent each month to Kaiser Permanente doctors and clinicians. More than 7 million Kaiser Permanente members are routinely treated with an electronic chart in an outpatient setting.

KP HealthConnect™ links people securely to their health care teams, their personal health information, and the latest medical knowledge - taking advantage of Kaiser Permanente's integrated approach to health care.

There's more news to come from Kaiser Permanente regarding electronic health records. With kp.org's planned re-launch Nov. 6, all PHR features will be presented under a single name: "My Health Manager." This single entry point will provide members with a simple way to access all of KP HealthConnect™'s online features and other online tools such as prescription refills and Kaiser Permanente's "Total Health Assessment."
