Kaiser Permanente Issues Statement Regarding Health Care Reform in California

Kaiser Permanente has issued the following statement regarding recent health care reform news in California:

"Despite tremendous efforts by the governor, legislative leaders and their staffs, we are disappointed that a solution to a very complex problem could not be reached.

"Overall, the bipartisan compromise was a sound proposal to expand access to millions of Californians. California needs comprehensive health care reform. Thanks to the governor and legislative leaders' efforts over the past year, compromises were reached on key components that lay the groundwork for future health reform.

"Kaiser Permanente has been a longtime advocate of universal coverage. We will be an active participant in future efforts to achieve universal coverage."
