Begin by researching schools that have nursing programs.
When making this decision, factor in the distance of the school
from your work or home. Make sure that the school is approved
by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) or the Board of Vocational
Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).
This information may also be obtained online at the BRN
Web site and the BVNPT
Web site. In addition, you can view Board pass rates for
colleges at the same Web sites. You can also find information
about choosing a school that's right for you at www.ChooseNursing.com.
Once you have narrowed your search to a few schools, make
sure you complete the following steps:
Call the school and request that a nursing program guide
be sent to you
Visit the campus in person
Apply at more than one school to increase your chances
of being accepted
