Regional Appointment and Advice Call
Centers in Sacramento, San Jose, and Vallejo
The Appointment and Advice Call Centers (AACC) represent
an exciting change in health care. Designed to meet the needs
of members through a team-based approach, call centers enhance
access to medical advice and appropriate medical care.
We have three Regional AACC's, located in Sacramento,
Vallejo, and San Jose.
Our AACCs serve 3.0 million Health Plan members in Northern
California and receive 13 million incoming calls per year
The AACC's have approximately 1,000 total combined agent
seats
Call Center Medical Doctors (CCMDs) provide on-site medical
consultation
In addition to approximately 750 RNs, the facilities employ
Healthcare Contact Specialist (HCS), Quality Assurance,
Training, and Information Technology Staff.
Hours of operation: Vallejo Call Center - 24 hours/day,
7 days/week; Sacramento and San Jose call centers - 6:00
a.m. - 11:00 p.m., 7 days/week

Advice Nurse Programs
Kaiser Permanente Advice Nurses access members' needs and
recommend a course of action through telephone advice in the
areas of Adult Medicine, OB/GYN, and Pediatric Care. Nurses
are equipped with advanced information technology, effective
protocols, and extensive clinical knowledge. They are supported
by an in-house training program.
Positions are open to registered nurses with Call Center,
Ambulatory Care, Inpatient, Long Term Care, QA/UR, Home Health,
or related clinical nursing experience within the last five
years. Candidates will need to be comfortable working with
computers, and assessing and triaging over the telephone with
an ability to type at least 20 wpm.
