Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced training and national certification in their chosen field. NPs care for both children and adults. NPs provide services including but not limited to routine physical examinations, observing and assessing symptoms, taking health histories, and evaluating results. NPs provide education, advice and guidance for patients and their families in the disease process and in establishing good health practices. Further, NPs evaluate and manage acute illness and chronic stable conditions, furnish medications, order diagnostics and evaluate the results, they also perform medical procedures. NPs practice according to standardized procedures and work with physicians consultation.

The purpose of the NPRC is to advance and promote development and recognition of the nurse practitioner role, to improve communication among NPs and to enhance communication and collaboration within the organizational structure of TPMG, KFH and Health Plan.
NP Regional Committee

NP Professional Practice Committee
The Nurse Practitioner Professional Performance Committee is a group of elected nurse practitioners that meet once a month to recommend measures to improve patient care, health and safety, nursing practice, personnel utilization and staffing. The NPPPC promotes and protects the role and responsibility of the nurse practitioner as a patient advocate.
Standardized Procedures
Standardized Procedures are documents that authorize nurse practitioners, consistent with the collegial NP-physician relationship, to diagnose, treat, and manage health conditions within the nurse practitioner scope of practice in order to meet the primary health care needs of clients.
