Registered Nurses with Emergency Department experience.
DESCRIPTION
The CEN Review class provides a strong foundation to prepare for and pass the CEN exam, which is administered by the Emergency Nurses Association. In addition to attending the CEN Review class, individual study is essential for success on the exam.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program, each participant will be able to:
Describe the components of focused assessment required in the care of patients in the emergency department.
Set priorities of patient care based on changes in assessment data.
Plan for appropriate care when presented with assessment data from multiple patients simultaneously.
Summarize the rationale behind all nursing interventions performed for patients who present with various types of physical and psychological emergencies.
Discuss the current acceptable standards for the transfer and transport of emergency patients .
Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 2365 for 11 hours.
