The Target Audience for this class is Emergency Department (ED) nurses who care for Critically Ill patients until they can be transferred to Critical Care Units.
DESCRIPTION
This class will provide ED nurses with skills for caring for critically ill patients during their stay in the ED.
OBJECTIVES
After the completion of this course the student should be able to:
Determine 3 differences between caring for an ICU patient in the ED versus the ICU.
Understand ventilators and ABG results.
Understand why I&O's are so important when caring for an ICU patient in the ED.
Determine what level of hemodynamics is required to be able to care for an ICU patient in the ED.
This Program is provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider CEP 2365 for 6 hours.
Class size is limited. Preference will be given to nurses working in NCAL Kaiser Emergency Departments.
There is no charge for this class for NCAL Kaiser nurses.
