TARGET AUDIENCE
Nurses currently working in Labor and Delivery areas, who have completed their Labor and Delivery training, and who plan to participate as a scrub nurse for Caesarian Sections.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program is a face to face class, presented as a three day didactic and hands on experience, at the Garfield Center in San Leandro .
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After viewing the videotape and completing the study guide, the participant will be able to do the following:

Describe surgical conscience

Identify the principles of aseptic technique

Describe three ways microorganisms may be transmitted to cause an infection
- Discuss six recommended practices addressing aseptic technique.
Upon completion of the course, the student will have the knowledge to begin clinical training as a scrub nurse in the Labor and Delivery area
TO ENROLL
Fully complete the registration form using a separate form for EACH participant registering for the program.
- Only those participants who have pre-registered for the class will be able to participate. No walk-ins are allowed. Completion of the entire class is required.

- Registration confirmation will be sent out two weeks prior to the first day of class.

Class size is limited to 20 participants . Manager approval is required. Participation in the training, by the facility educator(s) is requested. There is no charge, however, some scrub and surgical materials may need to be provided by the facilities.
