  • Underrepresented Groups in Nursing (minority and male students)
  • Nursing as a Second Career
  • Affiliate (one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded at each campus affiliated with Kaiser Permanente)

Please refer to the application packet for full details.

Applications have been sent to all BRN-approved nursing programs in California. Materials must be submitted to contacts at the schools and are usually due in mid-late March (students should check with their school's nursing department or financial aid office for exact deadlines).

For Kaiser Permanente Employees only:
Excellence in Bachelor's Degree Nursing is a special category of the Deloras Jones RN Scholarship Program, created in 2001 in honor of Deloras Jones, RN, MS, for her 34 years of leadership and dedication to education and nursing practice at Kaiser Permanente. These scholarships are intended to recognize and reward Kaiser Permanente employees who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and who embody Deloras' spirit and dedication in their daily lives. A limited number of $5,000 awards will be granted to those candidates who best demonstrate one or more of the following attributes:

  • Leadership within Kaiser Permanente or the community at large
  • An enduring commitment to education
  • Excellence in nursing practice

Financial need is not a criterion for selection. Applicants must be enrolled in a BRN-approved California BSN program (4-year BSN or RN-BSN); have completed at least one academic term with grades available by March 2006; plan to graduate no earlier than November 2006; have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for BSN program coursework; and have completed at least one year of employment with Kaiser Permanente.
