Background
Kaiser Permanente has initiated TCARE to create a human-centered care delivery experience that addresses the needs of both patients and care providers. Kaiser's goal is to offer a personalized, high-quality experience for the patient and an engaging and rewarding work environment for the care provider. TCARE involves medical center nurses and other staff, management and physicians, and a small KP regional and national team.
IDEO, an internationally recognized design firm that has recently completed the Perinatal, Nursing Knowledge Exchange and Bed Management projects with Kaiser, was engaged to help design the framework and approach for TCARE.
