Nursing Research Program's Goals
- Advance patient standards of care through evidence-based practice
- Utilize nursing experience to examine clinically relevant problems
- Maintain compliance with Protection of Human Subjects Federal Regulations
- Promote projects that are aligned with strategic improvement initiatives
- Support nursing research partnerships with academic, public, and industry partners that enhance the innovative development and distribution of nursing knowledge
- The Nursing Research Program is working to achieve these goals by:
- Providing leadership and consultation services from a nurse scientist
- Offering education to KP RN's about how they can engage in research utilization, evidence-based practice and nursing research
- Facilitating formation of Nursing Research Councils at all NCAL facilities
- Collaborating with students, KP RN's, allied health professionals and external investigator to promote approval of project applications to Kaiser's Northern California Institutional Review Board (IRB)
- Promoting participation in local, regional, national and international professional conferences
