On
the cover: "Oceanside Pier" by Alan D Fremland, MD,
is a black and white photograph. The underside of Oceanside Pier
reflects the rhythmicity of the ocean as the waves crash toward
the shore.
Dr
Fremland has been interested in photography since his early teens
and recently, instead of a darkroom, has begun exploring the use
of his computer to produce prints. Dr Fremland and his wife have
traveled much of the past ten years, since his retirement as a radiologist
from SCPMG in San Diego,

Permanente Journal
is always interested in considering artwork by Kaiser Permanente
clinicians and employees. If you would like to submit art for
consideration for the cover or interior of The Permanente Journal,
please use the following guidelines:
Send us
a high-quality color photograph of your art no smaller than
4x5 and no larger than 8x10. For cover art submission, portrait
orientation is preferred. Please include a cover letter explaining
Kaiser Permanente association, art background, medium and a
brief statement about the artwork (description, inspiration,
etc). Electronic and e-mail submissions are accepted, 600 dpi
resolution is required.
