ARTIST STATEMENT
Patty Stelz, RN

I have been a Registered Nurse at the Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center since 2002.

As a child I always enjoyed drawing and painting, but as an adult life “just got busy” and I told myself I would start again “some day.” About 15 years ago, my husband and I were on a trip to Europe; we were in the Louvre and I noticed that there were people sketching. I realized that by waiting for “some day” I had missed a unique opportunity. I decided that “some day” was now and I was not going to miss another opportunity like that. I signed up for classes and have been painting since.
