Heart Valve Replacement Registry

The Heart Valve Replacement Registry is designed to provide support to KP Patients, Physicians, Staff, and Systems via extensive tracking mechanisms and surveillance of tissue, mechanical, and allograft valve replacements. Valve type selection and corresponding survival rate varies greatly between the five performing sites, expressing a clear need for such a registry to serve as a single source for outcome information and analysis. This product registry is responsible for: xray
  • The identification and monitoring of all patients receiving these cardiac implants
  • Reporting KP utilization of all specified devices to support valve type selection, and identify clinical best practices
  • Assist in product analysis by tracking long term health outcomes on large patient populations

This Registry will enhance the already comprehensive STS data collection system through the creation of a national registry capable of collecting more variables, such as those required for implant tracking in the event of a recall. This registry has great potential to enhance quality of care in addition to data tracking, maintenance and reporting; as well as produce knowledge of utilization and practice to improve selection processes.
