"Right
Hand "
by Sharon Carter, MD
|
Sharon
Carter, MD, painted "Right Hand" with acrylics on Bristol
board. Inspired by cave paintings in Europe and Native American
pictographs, this painting attempts to portray human hands as icons,
decoratively and anatomically. An outline of her own hand, this
hand is uniquely hers and yet universal to all of us. Dr Carter
obtained her medical degree from Cambridge University, England.
She immigrated to the US in 1979, and has worked for Group Health
Permanente for ten years. Her work may also be seen on the Internet
in "Switched-on Gutenberg," and "Disquieting Muses."
She is one of the editors for "Literary Salt": www.literarysalt.com.
More
of Dr Carter's art can be seen in the Soul
of the Healer section.
