On
the cover:
"Primordium" by Martin Shearn, MD, is an acrylic on canvas.
He loved bright colors and odd shapes. This is one of a series of
experimentations with the idea that particular paintings can be
viewed from different perspectives--Dr Shearn felt this painting
could be viewed upside down.
Dr
Shearn was Chief of Medicine at KP Oakland where he developed the
first House Staff Training Program. This painting was done in 1988,
two years after Dr Shearn's retirement from TPMG after 31 years
of service.
More
of Dr Shearn's artwork can be seen in the Soul
of the Healer section.
