Kaiser Permanente to Open New Medical Offices In Snellville and Douglasville
GEORGIA EXPANSION INITIATIVE
ATLANTA — Kaiser Permanente announced today it will invest $4.6 million to open two new medical offices in Gwinnett and Douglas counties.
The two locations bring to seven the number of new medical offices that are part of Kaiser Permanente’s expansion program, which is making access to health care more convenient for its members in metro Atlanta. Within the past nine months, Kaiser Permanente has opened new facilities in Holly Springs, Lawrenceville, Downtown Decatur and East Cobb. Plans are underway to open a facility in Northwest Cobb in September.
The new Douglasville medical office — Kaiser Permanente’s first location in Douglas County — will be located at 6875 Douglas Blvd. in the Douglasville Marketplace Shopping Center. The Snellville medical office will be located at 2270 Fountain Drive. It will be the organization’s fourth location in Gwinnett County.
The addition of the two new locations brings to 24 the number of Kaiser Permanente medical facilities in the organization’s 28-county service area. The organization owns or leases more than one million square feet of building space in metro Atlanta.
“These two new medical offices will provide more convenience and access to our members in Douglas County, Snellville and the surrounding areas,” said Peter Andruszkiewicz, president of Kaiser Permanente Georgia. “The properties are in ideal locations, allowing us to better serve members in these thriving regions.”
The 7,000 square foot Douglasville medical office will employ approximately nine health-care professionals. The Snellville location (7,500 square feet) will likely employ 11. Both will include exam and procedure rooms, a laboratory, a pharmacy and basic radiology services. Kaiser Permanente is investing about $4.6 million in interior construction, furniture and medical and IT equipment in both medical offices.
Staffed by physicians of The Southeast Permanente Medical Group, the new medical offices will offer internal medicine and pediatrics for Kaiser Permanente members. The Snellville location will also offer full Ob/Gyn services five days a week. Additional specialties may be added.
The new Snellville, Douglasville and Northwest Cobb medical offices are projected to open in the fall.
