For the fifth consecutive time, the Kaiser Permanente Dental Care Program has received the maximum three-year accreditation awarded by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This accreditation signifies that our Dental Program has passed rigorous national standards for the provision of quality dental care.
PDA's Dental Director and Associate Directors are sought-after presenters at national and international dental conferences. Recent presentations have focused on the success PDA has experienced over the years in applying evidence-based principles to daily clinical practice and in promoting medical-dental integration.
More than 60 PDA dentists have agreed to participate in a General Dentist Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN) that is being developed as part of a $75 million grant from the NIDCR (National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research). PDA was named as a source of "Network Practitioners" in a grant submitted to the NIDCR by the University of Alabama and the University of Florida. The grant's approval made the front page of the ADA News. As part of this project, PDA general dentists, will have an opportunity to serve as "Practitioner/Investigators" (PIs) and will participate in at least one new study per year.
